Lemons to lemonade feature #3: Misty Gibbs

Monday, November 17, 2008
I am getting some great feedback from readers in regards to our 30 day "lemons to lemonade" marathon. The mom entrepreneurs we are featuring are truly inspirational. Today you will meet Misty Gibbs of My Inspiration Lounge, a new online portal connecting women to the best content on the web, which she established in October 2008 despite the economy.

My Inspiration Lounge focuses on informing and empowering women to help them realize their potential. In times of economic uncertainty, Misty feels her responsibility is greater than ever to help women stay positive, be smart, and find balance. She helps women get inspired and informed in the Get Money Savvy, Nourish Mind & Body and Get Entrepreneurial sections of My Inspiration Lounge. Misty is a mom to two daughters ages four and four-months. Here is her story...

How has this economy affected you, your business and your family?
We don’t eat out anymore and if we do, nothing fancy! My next new outfit is in my closet! I give my time instead of gifts.

How are you making lemonade from lemons?
During times of economic uncertainty, there is a greater need for women to find balance while remaining informed and staying positive. My Inspiration Lounge helps women do just that. It is the “go-to” resource for women during these times to help us be money savvy, connect with like-minded people, redefine our priorities, and find new ways to live a fuller life. My vision is to help women feel empowered, especially during this time, so we take control of our lives and become better prepared for future downturns (because there will be another one). The goal is to be proactive now, so in the future we are not reactive.

Any encouraging words you would like to offer mom entrepreneurs?
Connect with women who are go-getters and positive. Be a resource to others, the help will be returned. Don’t be afraid to ask – what seems impossible to you is possible to others.
